Founder / Vicar
Fr. Bill attended Camp Wingmann back in the 60's as an elementary schooler. Fr. Bill began youth work at age 18, then later became a priest, then Canon to the Ordinary for the Bishop of the Diocese of Florida. Interestingly, Bill & his wife Joanie applied to be the Summer Camp Directors of Camp Wingmann as a young couple but didn't get the job, but that never stopped them from realizing their dream. Their Love for Wingmann drew them back when they resurrected the camp in 1998 and became the official Directors of Camp Wingmann where they've faithfully served for over 20 yrs. Fr. Bill has a BA in Music Education from Florida Southern College and a Masters in Divinity from the University of the South.
Meredith first came to Wingmann as a camper in 2009. She was on staff from 2014-2016 and faithfully returned to be a Winter Camp counselor and to participate in volunteer opportunities. She joined our year-round staff in 2019. Meredith continued to work with youth in academic, mentorship, and athletic settings during her college career. During her time at Camp Wingmann, she is excited to work hard and hopeful that she can give back to the place that has most impacted her life. Meredith says she knows the positive impact of camp on youths’ lives and is thankful to be a part of the team that makes this experience possible for our campers. Meredith graduated from the University of Florida in May 2019. Her degree is in Family, Youth, & Community Science and a minor in Nonprofit Organizational Leadership.
Angela was introduced to Camp Wingmann by her now Husband Joshua "JJ" Joseph in 2008 and in a short time became one of the campers' favorite female counselor. She strove to make sure that the campers experienced the summer in a way that reflected the vision of Wingmann, which is to be a "Fun place for kids to know and grow in Christ." She along with her Husband JJ & sons Isaiah & Elijah are permanent residents at the Camp where she functions as the Camp Bookkeeper. Angela received her degree from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in education
Joshua, better known as J J, has served as a Sr. Counselor for Camp Wingmann for 3yrs and Asst. Director for 2 yrs following. After his 5 yr tenure he went on to work as the Student Ministry Director for several prominent churches in the Diocese. JJ had a deep passion for the Camp, always dreaming of serving on a more permanent basis, so when the opportunity arose he dropped everything and moved along with his wife Angela and 2 yr old son Isaiah to Camp Wingmann to serve as the Summer Camp Director. Since working at the camp JJ & Anglea welcomed son Elijah to the family on New Years day 2019! JJ brings over 15 yrs of youth ministry experience, energy, and passion to the Camp. His hope is that students have a blast, and leave with a deeper sense of who they are in Christ. JJ received his Degree from Eastern Florida College and a 2 yr Certificate of Completion from the Youth Ministry Institute.
Christin Hill her camp life at the age of 10 years old as a 3rd grader here at Camp Wingmann. She came every year until she was finally able to apply to be on staff as a Summer Camp Counselor. Christin was on staff for 6 years, 3 of which were as Assistant Summer Camp Director. She loves serving through youth ministry and has over 10 years of youth ministry experience. Christin said that, " I hope to continue building upon the Camp Wingmann legacy, and fortify a culture of young people that rely on the Lord's guidance and provision. My dream is that young people know the Lord and seek him first in their school, friendships, and daily activities. Chistin graduated with her bachelors on Health Education & Bahaviour from the University of Florida, then graduated in 2013 with her Masters in Health Education from UF.
Jonathan & Jerrick Udy
Maintenance & Grounds
John & Jerrick were an answer to many prayers when they came on board in 2019. The father son duo have a wealth of knowledge of nearly every trade, and they care for the camp and keep it beautiful all year long! The Udy's, like all staff, believe that Camp is a holy place and that their work aids in the vision of welcoming students of all ages to Wingmann for the purpose of knowing Christ; which is important to them.
