Camp Counselors help plan events, lead group events, and monitor campers. Our counselors are supportive and caring. The goal is to give campers a fun & safe camp experience.
We are looking for enthusiastic Camp Counselors who love Jesus! Camp counselors lead, support,
and motivate campers as they enjoy all that the camp has to offer. Counselors help
plan and lead events, monitor campers, and respond to incidents. Communication is key! We depend on counselors to discuss camper participation and concerns with parents and other camp staff members. You should be positive, proactive, and caring while focusing on giving campers a fun and safe camp experience. To succeed as a Camp Counselor, you should be responsible and organized with strong leadership skills.
Camp Counselor Responsibilities:
• Working with other camp staff members to plan and coordinate camp events.
• Leading and supporting campers as they participate in age-appropriate activities.
• Monitoring campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and prevent accidents.
• Cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring proper use of camp facilities and equipment.
• Reporting and recording details of incidents, like accidents or rule violations, to parents/camp staff.
• Memorizing all emergency procedures and enforcing camp rules.
• Participating in staff meetings.
Camp Counselor Requirements:
• 18-25 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in camps, with children, or with specific activities ia preferred.
• First aid, CPR, and additional training may be required.
• Physical ability to participate in activities, run, climb, swim, and support the weight of children.
• Ability to pass a background check, a physical, and proof of immunizations.
• High level of responsibility and accountability.
• Upbeat, engaging personality.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

A Junior Counselor is a counselor-in-training. Our JC's assist our Cabin Counselors and other lead staff as they plan events, lead group events & monitor campers. Like our Cabin Counselors, the goal is to make sure campers have fun and stay safe.
We are looking for attentive Junior Counselors who love Jesus! JC’s assist our senior counselors to lead, support, and motivate campers as they enjoy all that the camp has to offer. The JC will help the Cabin
Counselor plan events, monitor campers, and report to the Cabin Counselor with information on any incidents. You should be excited and supportive while focusing on giving campers a fun, safe camp experience. To succeed as a JC, you should be upbeat, responsible, and organized.
Camp Counselor Responsibilities:
• Working with other camp staff members to plan and coordinate camp events.
• Leading and supporting campers as they participate in age-appropriate activities.
• Monitoring campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and prevent accidents.
• Cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring proper use of camp facilities and equipment.
• Enforcing camp rules.

• Experience volunteering/working in camps or with children is preferred.

The ropes course facilitator leads staff and camper groups through the progression of the course and low and high elements. Facilitator will explain instructions for the course clearly, while ensuring the safety of the participants.
The ropes course coordinator is responsible for regular evaluation of equipment and elements, including maintaining up-to-date equipment use logs.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and coordinate all aspects of the ropes course program.
Identify natural hazards and risks to the environment and take steps to control them.
Provide developmental instruction according to existing camp progressions.
Know and teach emergency procedures for ropes course and challenge activities.
Course Evaluation and Maintenance
Conduct regular evaluation of safety and condition of equipment and elements.
Maintain up-to-date equipment and rope use, damage, and maintenance logs, and take action on items that need repair or replacement.
Keep the camp director informed of ropes course needs.
Participate in daily leadership team meetings, and other staff meetings as requested.
Maintain excellent communication with campers, and other staff.
Take an active role in the continual evaluation of campers, activities, and staff, specifically relating to the ropes course program.
Take responsibility for the use and care of ropes course equipment.
Serve as a positive role model for campers and staff.
Lead and/or participate in overnight trips as requested.
Train Cabin Counselors on specifics of the ropes course program, giving them the tools to provide general initiatives in their cabins.
Participate in required pre-season training.
Perform other duties as assigned by the camp director.
Qualifications
• ACCT Level 1 Certification or equivalent from a certified ACCT vendor.
• Current certification in Wilderness First Aid and CPR/AED, or equivalent.
• A belief in, adherence to, and a willingness to promote the mission of Camp Wingmann
• Providing opportunities for all people to practice living in harmony with nature and each other.
Essential Functions
• Ability to tie all necessary knots quickly, confidently, and correctly.
• Ability to safely belay participants and perform rescues if required.
• Ability to set up and take down each element.
• Ability to communicate and work with groups of all ages and skill levels
• Provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
• Ability to observe camper and staff behavior, enforce appropriate safety regulations,
emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
• Ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
• Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist
campers and staff in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and
endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
• Ability to endure standing for long hours and performing activities such as running, bending, stooping, and stretching.
• Ability to operate with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions.
• Ability to traverse varying terrain, from flat to hilly, while moving with campers between activities.
• Ability to live and work in a camp setting with children and adults 24 hours a day, with minimum privacy, while maintaining a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and a good sense of humor.
Camp Wingmann

Lifeguard is responsible for the safety and security of all people in and around the waterfront at camp, as well as the upkeep and operations of the waterfront.
Skills and Experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to assess and communicate information to lifeguard team, campers, and parents.
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Current Red Cross Lifeguard and Waterfront Skills Certifications.
Specific Responsibilities for Lifeguard
• Maintain safety of all people in and around the waterfront area.
• Remain alert and use all senses while guarding.
• Perform first aid and emergency care treatment when required.
• Work as a team with other lifeguards.
• Handle discipline situations with courtesy.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of waterfront area including boathouse.
• Assign and delegate tasks to aquatic observers.
• Complete all necessary injury reports.
• Set up the waterfront area for specific activities according to the weekly program schedule.
• Weekly testing of swimming water; record results and report to supervisor.
• Communicate and enforce all camp regulations for the waterfront in a professional manner.
• Assist maintenance staff in daily cleaning tasks when not at the waterfront.
• Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Our K-Crew provides Christian hospitality through meal service. Work as part of the kitchen team to prepare God’s gift of food into nutritious and appetizing meals.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY: Kitchen crew works closely with other staff and volunteers. Meal service provides interaction with campers and guests and these interactions should be positive and friendly. K-Crew will report to the Food Service Manager in the day-to-day kitchen operations and for all food service-related aspects of the camp’s ministry.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Assist with preparation of meals, meal service, and clean up.
• Apply proper sanitation procedures in accord with camp policies and procedures along with appropriate state, county, ACA, and other regulatory standards.
• Practice safe and proper use of food service equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas.
• Lead KP crews in set up and washing dishes.
• Assist in storing food appropriately--including use of labels, rotating inventory, putting away orders, and maintaining appropriate temperatures.
• Provide consistent quality for routine activities like: mealtimes, snacks, cabin/shower house cleanup, off-site field trips, store, coordinating special events, and other tasks as needed.
• Help with camp clean-up/housekeeping as part of daily routines and after campers depart
from camp.
• Participate in staff meetings and devotions. (All staff are encouraged to add agenda items
to list, lead group or faith building activities, provide feedback and suggestions for improvement of camp organization.)
• As skills and abilities allow, assist with other camp activities (including program areas, basic maintenance, and office tasks as needed.)
• Participate enthusiastically in as many camp activities as possible.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
• Florida State Food Handler’s Certification
• Certification in CPR and First Aid (American Red Cross or equivalent)
• Minimally 18 years of age or high school graduate
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in food service.
• Ability to be flexible, learn quickly, take initiative, and follow directions.
• Awareness of safety and ability to actively intervene when needed.
• Ability to engage participants in activities with enthusiasm and clear directions.
• Ability to understand, identify, implement, and articulate clear directions including safety
measures.
• Ability to model appropriate behavior and use positive discipline techniques when needed.
• Preference given to applicants with a growing Christian faith and ability to share support
others in their personal faith development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Willingness to participate in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other staff and guests.
• Strength and ability to lift a food container, weighing a minimum fifty pounds, from the
floor to a working surface level (thirty-six inches high.)
• Ability to work with food service equipment and cooking vessels at a functional working
of 60 inches (e.g. – stock pots on top of range or baking goods on upper racks of doublestacked convection oven.)
• Ability to operate food service equipment safely, including knifes and mixers.
• Ability to maintain proper sanitation in kitchen, bathrooms, and other areas of camp.
• Safely handle cleaning supplies and other chemicals.
• Pass background check required by all camp staff.
