Fr. Bill was a camper back in the 1960’s. He went on to become a music instructor and later a priest in the Episcopal Church where his leadership and skill propelled him to become Cannon to the Ordinary, second only to the bishop. The camp was sold in the 70’s and when Bill and others heard that it was on the market, their hearts knew that they had to buy it back and restore it to the place where not only they but so many others were impacted by the love of Jesus. He leveraged his own property and brothers’ business, took a huge gamble, and purchased the camp. He served as the Director of the camp for more than 20 years and has breathed new life into this space. Thousands of youths, many who are now adults, have been touched by the work done here at Camp Wingmann through the work of Fr. Bill! He now serves as the Vicar of camp, providing spiritual insight to our year-round staff.
