The summer camp program is excellent and is growing yearly in popularity and attendance. There is even a waiting list for some sessions. Our camper/staff ratio is quite low and safety is always emphasized. Having fun is a priority and campers enjoy many activities such as all kinds of sports, silly games, arts and crafts, and swimming or kayaking in beautiful Trout Lake. In addition, there is also a ropes course to challenge the campers middle school and older. The cabins and the Lodge are air conditioned and have comfortable bunk beds. In the dining hall, the kids are treated to the best camp food anywhere! It is wholesome, delicious and with plenty of seconds for growing bodies.
So you can see that Camp Wingmann is a great place for children and teenagers. We encourage campers to get plenty of exercise, to eat right, and get enough sleep at night. But that is not all. Their spiritual side is also of primary importance, so we encourage campers to grow in their faith in God. To that end, every day time is set aside for biblical teaching, singing lots of fun contemporary Christian songs and chapel services. Through it all by word and example, the staff of Camp Wingmann encourages kids to love the Lord Jesus and serve Him all their lives.
While Camp Wingmann is sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida, all kids are encouraged to come to camp, no matter what their background. In fact, many campers are non-Episcopalians. We are not trying to make campers into a certain denomination, we are trying to make them Christians. We strive to live out the camp motto: Camp Wingmann is a fun place for kids to come and to know and grow in Christ!
